Gisella Caccone: Director

Graduated from Yale University in 1986 with a PhD in Biology. Director of DNA Facility, Senior Research Scientist for Yale EEB and Director of YIBS MSCG Laboratory. An evolutionary biologist whose interests include molecular ecology, population genetics, applied conservation genetics and vector biology. Lab Website MSCG Website

Carol Mariani: Assistant Director (July 2005-present)

Graduated from Salisbury University in December 2001, having conducted a population genetics study of the threatened seabeach plant, Amaranthus pumilus. Prior to joinig our group worked in the lab of Dr. Anne Yoder (2002-2005) contributing to the phylo-geographic/genetic studies of several Madagascar mammals and the Indian Ocean Fruit Bat genus Pteropus.

Chaz Hyseni: Research Assistant (May 2007-present)

Graduated from Yale University in May 2007, having carried out a research project in the lab of Dr. Caccone, applying morphometric and genetic techniques in a newly discovered and endangered taxon of Galapagos giant tortoise. Currently spends part-time devoted to the population genetics of tsetse flies, employing microsatellite techniques.

Benjamin Evans: Research Assistant (October 2009)

Graduated from Lehigh University in May 2009 with a B.A. in Biology. Worked in the lab of Dr. Sean Mullen studying the genetics of the Limentis arthemis-astyanax hybrid species complex.

Brittney Kajdacsi: Lab Technician, Ezra Stiles College, Class of 2011 (Spring 2008-present)

Works part-time at our facility and is contributing to a population genetics study of giant tortoises from the Volcano Wolf area on the Galapogos Island of Isabella, employing microsatellite techniques.

John Greenawalt: Lab Technician, Saybrook College, Class of 2012 (Summer 2008-present)

Works part-time at our facility, and is the Strings Section Leader in the Yale Precision Marching Band.
